Each year, the Annual P&C Insurance Symposium is the primary fundraising event for the Education Foundation through company and individual support. Please consider adding your name to the roster of Supporters of Education whose generous contributions support the next generation of insurance professionals. It’s easy to contribute with online registration. Upon receiving your tax deductible contribution, the ICT Education Foundation will send you an official acknowledgement that will substantiate your donation for your next personal or your company’s income tax return.
Since 2002, the Insurance Council of Texas has been awarding scholarships and grants to Texas university students. Formed in 2007 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the ICT Education Foundation’s mission is to promote careers in the Property & Casualty insurance industry by awarding scholarships to university students registered at Texas universities offering risk management/insurance programs. The Education Foundation also offers academic achievement awards to the business schools to enhance their insurance and risk management programs.
- Overall, insurance companies, insurance-related businesses, and individual employees have given approximately $1.3 million to support insurance education and the development of future insurance professionals.
- Awarded scholarships to a diverse group of 628 students at 12 universities throughout Texas.
- Contributed $346,120 to our participating institutions in the form of Academic Achievement Awards, including $2,500 to fund the initial Gamma Iota Sigma insurance fraternity at UT-Dallas.
- Contributed $15,000 to the creation of an endowed insurance chair at the University of North Texas.
In 2019, we began a new ICT tradition, recognizing individuals who have donated to the Foundation for 10 consecutive years — our Legacy Partners. In 2020 we announced the following industry leaders, as Legacy Partners whose generous contributions are greatly appreciated.
